My Story

My name is Yolanda Nowicki (trail name: Solo Yolo).  I started backpacking in the Sierra with my mother at a very young age.  Seeing the beauty and the grandeur of the snow-capped mountain peaks, emerald blue alpine lakes, forests full of lush trees and colorful flowers, I developed a passion for nature that has only deepened throughout the years.  Although I am an outdoor enthusiast, hiking is my true love.

Get out and enjoy nature…It is good for the heart and good for the soul!

Keep close to Nature’s heart…and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods.  Wash your spirit clean.” ~John Muir

    1. Thank you! It’s wonderful that you experienced nature at an early age. I’m sure it has shaped who you are today and your outlook on life. You should definitely start a blog…It can be used not only as a reference and inspiration to others, but also for reliving your precious memories and adventures. =)
